Unprecedented! Canada's second wave of immigration amnesty for inbound workers and graduates!
Just now! Canada's immigration department has made a huge announcement! 90,000 new immigrants will be accepted! For international students and essential workers, as well as for French-speaking applicants, there is no limit to the number of applications!
Today, Canada announced a real amnesty for graduates. Compare to the previous 75 points Express Entry program, this special program for graduates has lower requirements and more slots available.
Beneficial groups of the new Policy:
1. Work permit holders working on the front line in Canadian hospitals, nursing homes and essential industries.
2. International students who graduated from a Canadian institution (post-secondary program) within the last four years (January 2017)
Start of the New Policy: May 6, 2021
New Policy end date: On November 5, 2021, or earlier if the application slot is filled earlier.
Three specific categories of the new policy
1. Health care workers: 20,000 immigration slots
a. At least one year of work experience in the health care industry in the past three years, in an occupation that is on the required list (40 health care industries on the list)
b. Be working in Canada with a valid work permit at the time of application (self-employment does not count)
c. Provide a language score of at least CLB4 (IELTS 3.5/4/4.5/4) within 2 years
d. Be in Canada with legal status at the time of application and approval
2. Other essential industry workers with work permit: 30,000 immigration slots
a. Have at least one year of work experience in the past three years, in an occupation that is on the required list
b. Work in Canada with a valid work permit at the time of application (self-employment does not count)
c. Provide a language score within 2 years, no less than CLB4 (IELTS 3.5/4/4.5/4)
d. Be in Canada at the time of application and approval and hold legal status
3. Graduates from Canada: 40,000 immigration slots
a. International students who graduated after January 2017
b. Working in Canada with a valid work permit at the time of application submission (self-employment does not count)
c. Provide a language score of no less than CLB5 (IELTS 4/5/5/5) within 2 years
d. Be in Canada with legal status at the time of application and approval
e. Intend to live outside of Quebec
If the applicant meets the above requirements, their spouse/partner, children can also apply.
This new policy applies to 40 health care occupations and 95 essential occupations in various fields, such as nursing, food production, etc. Please refer to the USCIS website for details.
