The Post-graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which allows international students to apply for a PGWP for 1-3 years after graduation, depending on the length of their studies in Canada, is an open work visa that allows them to work for any employer and not have to leave Canada if they do not find a job within 90 days after graduation, as was the case in the past.
You can apply for the CEC immigration program after working in a specific position for one year after graduation. Applicants must be foreign students who have graduated from a Canadian government-accredited institution and have studied in Canada for more than 8 months.
The time limit given by the PGWP is related to the length of the program the applicant studied in Canada, which is generally the same as the program length, but a 3-year work visa can be obtained after graduation from a program of 2 years (or more). The PGWP requires applicants to submit their applications within 90 days of graduation.
The PGWP can be applied for through the Immigration CIC website or by mailing in a paper application, with the website application being faster than submitting a paper application.
