Successful Case: Successful EE application within six months!
Express Entry (EE) is an application process for Canadian immigration implemented on January 1, 2015, but it is not an immigration program, but a selection system. In this selection system, there are 3+1 immigration programs. These are the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades(FST), plus one Provincial nominee program(PNP) for each province's EE category.
Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) immigration is mainly for applicants from outside Canada, and Federal Skilled Trades (FST) immigration is mainly for applicants with a skilled trade job, such as chefs and electricians.
The main way for international students to immigrate to Canada after graduation with a 3-year graduate work permit is the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) immigration category.
I. What is the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) immigration program?
Features of the program:
The entry requirements of the program are low, with a minimum IELTS score of 5, accumulated 1 year of full-time work experience in the 0 A B category in Canada. It can be said that the main purpose of this program is for international students to stay and immigrate, it is also the easiest of the three programs.
II.The specific program requirements
1. Work Experience
At least 12 months of full-time work experience (or part-time work experience of equivalent duration) within the 3 years before application, which can be intermittent and can be part-time work hours stacked.
The work experience must be gained in Canada, and the occupation must belong to the following categories in the list of Canadian occupations (NOC):
1.Management jobs (Category 0), such as managers;
2.Professional jobs (Category A) such as accountants, engineers;
3.Technical and skilled jobs (Category B) such as cooks, computer technicians, administrative assistants, bakers, restaurant foremen, etc.
2. Language skill
Class 0 and A positions, such as managers (Class 0), accountants (Class A), engineers (Class A) need to meet the minimum of Canadian language standard CLB7 (i.e. IELTS 6 in all 4 G categories).
Class B positions, such as chef, baker, administrative assistant, bookkeeper, restaurant foreman, etc., are required to meet the minimum CLB5 Canadian language standard (i.e. IELTS G, reading 4, other 3 items are 5).
3. Intention to reside
The applicant has no intention to reside outside of Quebec.
III.Common ways to improve your scores
1, Improve your English test scores. Improving IELTS is the fastest, most direct way to improve EE scores. But after all, not everyone can get 8777 on IELTS, so other ways also need to be considered together.
2, Improve your education. The most common way is to take a 1-year course in addition to the 3-year advanced diploma or bachelor's degree to pursue a dual degree. A dual degree can add about 20-30 points, and the effect is obvious. We have a lot of experience in choosing a school to improve your education, so please feel free to consult us.
3, Increase your work experience. If you have one year of working experience and the score difference is not that much, working for another year is an effective way to improve your score, after all, most international students have a 3-year post-graduate work permit.
4, Seek help from your employers to apply for LMIA. If the score difference is not that much with one year of working experience, and you are a crucial employee of your company, you can ask your employer to apply for LMIA, which adds 50 points and will improve your competitiveness in the candidate pool significantly.
5, Through the provincial nomination (+ 600 points). Each province has its own provincial nomination program, part of which is based on the EE provincial nomination program, so if you meet the requirements of the provincial nomination, you will add 600 points to your EE application, which means a guaranteed entry since the invitation score is only 400 points.
