List of prohibited items on Canadian airplanes
If you are going to study in Canada, you need to pay attention to the equipment on the plane! Here are some of the prohibited items on Air Canada for students to know in advance.
According to the Canada News Agency, Transport Canada has announced a number of items that cannot be placed in carry-on luggage.
These include: automatic guns, stun guns and grenades, but also less obvious items such as: whips, diving oxygen tanks and lacrosse sticks. Also, never sneak in any projectile machines, fire extinguishers or underwater fish guns. The inspection department also dislikes any items such as acid, tear gas, swords and meat cleavers.
Transport Canada says things like fireworks are also frowned upon. Transport Canada lists more than 100 prohibited items, but it doesn't stop there. Authorities reserve the right to confiscate any item that poses a danger.
Airport inspectors still have the authority to deny any item that they believe poses a threat to air travel:
Axes and small short-handled axes (unless they are part of the aircraft equipment), tools (e.g. hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, drills, saws, skid sticks and any heavy tools, except those used for aircraft and airport maintenance), pool cues, bows and arrows, box cutters, knuckle brass sets, corkscrew drills (unless crew used), darts, hockey sticks, ice skates, lacrosse sticks, burning liquids, paints, fire materials (such as pyrotechnics, flares and flare gun bullets), diving oxygen cylinders, paddles and balls (such as tennis balls, soft wall tennis balls and paddle wall balls), ski poles, bows and projection machines, bats (such as baseball bats, cricket bats), toy weapons (including: toy mechanics and toy guns, etc.).
