PRRA not passed, travel permit received, flight booked in 2 weeks, fourth court date, released

Basic information about the client:


Applied for refugee status in Canada many years ago, but was not approved.


Since then, client has been working part-time.


Mid-March

The police inspected our client and found that our client had no legal status.


Mid-March - May 15

The client went to court 3 times, but was not released for various reasons.


May 26th

PRRA-risk assessment application was denied.


May 29th

The client contacted us, and after studying the case, we decided to accept the case.


June 15

10 minutes before the hearing, the prosecution informed us that the client's travel permit had been issued by the consulate and the ticket had been booked for repatriation to his home country in 2 weeks. We urgently changed our strategy and after almost 2 hours of defense, the client was conditionally released.
